What we stand for All children, especially those who are disadvantaged, should be given the opportunity to shape their own futures in a self-assured manner. Sport is the ideal medium for teaching ALL children the values they need for a self-determined, self-assured life. Fairness, courage, team spirit, tolerance, endurance, discipline and humility are all important values in sport. By promoting a love of physical activity, we generate a motivation to perform and a positive basic attitude. »For me personally, sport is, and always has been, the best lesson in life. It taught me to deal with defeat and enjoy victory. Both experiences have strengthened me, so I can cope with life's highs and lows.« Michaela Gerg – Founder How we work The Schneekristalle Foundation is committed to making children and youths aware of the values of sport. What began with winter sports has evolved into a year-round sports mentoring programme for disadvantaged children. Our programme provides children from specialised schools, orphanages, children's homes and similar institutions with thousands of opportunities to enjoy sports every year. Our goal is to pass on a love of sports and sporting performance, and to give children special days to remember. Current issues, such as inclusion and integration, have been a matter of course for the Schneekristalle Foundation since the very beginning, as the mentoring of children from a diverse range of backgrounds, including children with disabilities and those from non-German families, has always been an extremely important part of what we do.
